What I took away from Daniel Rabinovich's talk at Mercado Libre

With ORT, we visited Mercado Libre's offices. Four ideas on the impact of artificial intelligence and the future of talent, and a call to get in the game.
On Wednesday, April 15, we had the chance to visit Mercado Libre's offices with ORT Argentina. There, the reflections of Daniel Rabinovich (COO and EVP of Product, Technology and Operations) gave us an invaluable perspective on the impact of artificial intelligence and the future of talent. Here are the main takeaways, straight to the point.

The technical barrier has dropped dramatically
With AI, the purely technical complexity of building a project has gone down. The real differentiator today is not knowing a coding manual by heart, but common sense, the ability to solve real problems, and adding something extra to what you make.
Innovation has no borders
What impressed Rabinovich most on a trip to Silicon Valley was not the tech giants, but a young founder using AI to try to print human tissue. The lesson: today, where you come from matters far less than the grit you bring to building.
Action over paralysis
In this landscape it is easy to freeze, afraid that a big company will make your idea obsolete. The advice is to get in the game and try things without being afraid of getting them wrong, just as LinkedIn did when everyone wrongly believed Facebook would crush it.
Fall in love with the process
Building technology comes with a lot of frustration, almost like the gruelling training of an elite athlete. To succeed in the long run, you have to enjoy the effort of climbing the mountain far more than the simple fact of reaching the top.
Get in the game
The final message is a call to action: we have the enormous privilege of living in a unique moment in history, with the best tools at our disposal and our basic needs covered. Instead of spending energy overanalysing whether an idea is perfect or whether someone else will build it, the best thing we can do is make the most of that luck, get in the game, and start building.
